Be one of the influencers who helps decide the nature of 21st century urbanism. Reimagine the idea of the urban in a digitally infused, spatially attenuated age facing a climate emergency. By 2050, 68% of the world’s population will be urban. This MSc Furture Urbanism at Queen’s University Belfast will train you to be one of the individuals who helps decide what that looks like.

Students will gain a thorough understanding of the many global challenges of urbanisation and sustainability.

You will learn using a variety of methods throughout the program. Students will address contemporary and future aspects of urbanism through developing design thinking in studio projects, research training, professional development and theoretical propositions.

This includes experimental, testable proposals which capture unique spatial opportunities including critiquing ideas of place, environment, culture, technology and sustainability through project vehicles. Students will also work on co-designed projects with external partners, collaborative networks and practitioners.

Job Opportunities:
This course supports employment pathways by developing knowledge and understanding of professions in areas relating to the contemporary setting of future city, architecture and landscape design.
