Each year, hundreds of Canadians head overseas to study Law in the UK. The University of Southampton remains a very popular choice for Canadians. There are several advantages to heading overseas to study Law. First, Canadian students are able to apply for the 3 year LLB program DIRECTLY from high school. There is also the option for students of a 2 Year Accelerated Program (JD Pathway) for those who already have an undergraduate degree. In addition, UK qualifications can be easily transferred to working back here at home. Another bonus is the fact that an LSAT score is NOT required in order to apply to UK Law Schools.
Law programs in the UK are well known and well-respected for the quality and thoroughness of their training. Because so many Canadians study overseas there is also a wide network of Canadian law societies which provide guidance, support and networking opportunities both throughout your law studies, as well as upon your return back home when you begin the job search. And once travel returns to normal, there is also the added benefit of being able to cheaply explore Europe and enjoy wonderful adventures with your classmates when free time comes along.
