The Tier 4 student Visa process can be a confusing process for students. But it doesn’t have to be provided that you PROPERLY PREPARE BEFOREHAND. Here are a few handy tips to make your application easier. And of course, if you are applying from Canada to any of our partner schools found here https://barclayedu.com/partner-schools/ get in touch with us so that we can assist you! Our services are FREE to students. The UK Universities that we represent here, pay us to help you apply from Canada. In the meantime, here are a few reminders which might help you out:

  1. Begin your Tier 4 Student Visa Application process EARLY. You are allowed to start the application 3 months BEFORE the date of your first class, but not before. Make sure you begin as soon as you can so that if you run into any funding hiccups or problems with processing if it ends up being a very busy year for applications, you do not run into the situation where your flight to head overseas is booked, but you still have no paperwork in hand.
  2. Make sure that any funds you do arrange are in YOUR NAME. For example, you cannot use a line of credit which is issued in your parent’s name. As well, funds must be liquid. So for example, investments cannot be used as proof of payment for your program in the UK.
  3. Be sure that funds are in your account for at least 28 days before you submit your Visa application. You must have a statement from the bank which proves this. Many students do not read through the requirements thoroughly and get caught on this point so be sure that you fulfil this condition properly or your application will likely be held up.
  4. Be sure that you list as many places as possible where the application requests a summary of travel. If you travel frequently, this can be difficult. But go through emails, calendars, appointments, your phone messages in order to document the places that you have been as accurately as possible. Failure to do so could raise questions with the Home Office which grants the Visa and once again, may result in a delay or denial.
  5. Make use of agents such as Barclay Educational Services which has the experience and knowledge to help you, or at the very least, ask the International representatives at your UK University of choice, if you have any questions. Once you submit the application, it is difficult to recall or edit it, and often you end up having to cancel and start all over again which can waste precious time.
