Does the psychology of crime and criminal investigation fascinate you?  Would you like to understand more about those who commit crime ?  Would you like to understand more about practicing as a forensic psychologist?   This Master’s degree has been designed to provide a thorough grounding in Forensic Psychology and prepares you for further training as a psychologist in this challenging field.

In this postgraduate program students will gain psychology knowledge and understand how to apply that to criminal investigation processes. This includes working with those who offend and working as well as working with other professionals who are key parts of the criminal justice system.  Students also take part in a major project which examines elements of forensic psychology theory and practice. 

This course has excellent links with outside services such as probation, prison, and forensic mental health agencies. In addition, many of the academic staff are leaders in their various fields including investigative psychology, eye witness memory and testimony and psychological vulnerability during police interviews.

Forensic psychology experts work in prison, probation and forensic mental health settings. The work is done in close conjunction with the police, courts, and crime victims.  Students graduating with an MSc in Forensic Psychology might also develop careers in other roles within the criminal justice system such as probation, prison or police services.
