The future of robots is changing. Taking the lead from biology, the next generation will be soft, smart, green and social. More importantly, biorobots will help meet today’s global challenges. Providing everything from microrobots for cancer treatment, to swarms powering warehouses, biorobots will be the next frontier in this rapidly changing field. They will facilitate scientific discovery, whether in the form of artificial fish studying pollution in the deep sea, to other studies of living systems and natural habitats.

This MSc postgraduate programme at University of Bristol brings together la unique combination of life scientists and engineers. This interdisciplinary environment will be one in which solutions are co-created with stakeholders in mind. With robotics and AI skills in high demand in today’s job market this program will train students to go far beyond the usual robotics training to reinvent how robots are designed and used with bioinspiration at heart.

Learning will be done in a variety of ways including project-based biorobotics units that will walk you through latest research and applications. Students will gain a thorough hands on understanding of how to build these systems, and demonstrations of how they can be used for good.
