Planning to head overseas for Law or a Master’s degree in the UK? Many Canadians with this in their futures are uncertain about the deadlines for applying to study in the UK. The quick answer is, for most programs there is no hard cutoff date for applications however, that can differ. Keep reading to find out more.

Many UK programs will accept applications up until late spring or even early summer. You do need to keep in mind however, obtaining your student visa can take at least a month and it is necessary for you to have this before you head over. So you need to be mindful of this timeline.

After more than a decade of advising students, our advice at Barclay Educational is simply to get the application in as quickly as possible. Leaving it to the last minute means that there is still a fair chance you will be accepted to a Law program, for example, but it might not be the Law program where you REALLY want to study.

If it’s healthcare you are thinking of, then those deadlines tend to be more definite. For programs like medicine, dentistry or nursing, there is normally a cutoff date and if you miss it you will have to wait until the following year of the program to apply. So again, if you are even considering this move, you need to do it as early in the year as possible.
